OMC Landscape Architecture is an award-winning landscape architecture and environmental design firm serving Hamilton, Halton, Niagara and communities in southern and eastern Ontario.
Habitat Restoration
Since the mid late 1980s, we have refined habitat restoration techniques implemented successfully across many municipalities. The work was based on original research by one of our founders who studied restoration techniques in Europe in 1983.
This research work has been refined and repeatedly tested for our Canadian climate, through collaboration between landscape architect and ecologist, and has evolved over time. We have reined or techniques to ensure results are repeatable, reliable with very low mortality rates. Contractors when properly trained, comment how simple our system is.
Many jurisdictions are experimenting with other systems in Ontario which were developed for different climatic conditions. Our techniques are proven since 1984 on dozens of small to large scale examples.
We have successfully implemented upland, lowland and riparian habitat restoration projects at a variety of scales.
