Overview

OMC provided services to the Toronto District School Board for Phase 1 of the renewal of an aging play space at a junior/senior public school which included ball hockey nets, playground equipment, and benches and tables. The work involved the removal and replacement of existing pavements and the design and construction of new walls and decking, the replacement of benches, tables and chairs, and new fencing. Drainage improvements were accomplished through the use of trees in soil cells, drains and permeable surfaces below the decking.

Phase 2 work involved the re-design of an adjacent playground space, including demolition and removal of asphalt, new basketball equipment, new ball hockey court, seating areas and tree planting.  Stormwater management on this side of the site was in the form of tree pits. Line painting included the basketball areas, ball hockey court, and four square play areas.
