We were prime consultant for this project consisting of intersection enhancements, streetscaping, a pedestrian plaza, and pedestrian connections from Lakeshore Road to new features in Spencer Smith Park.
Major technical constraints included; the challenge of placing a major design feature adjacent to lands under the authority of Trans-Northern Pipeline, the presence of a major telecommunications trunk line bisecting the western portion of the project site, planting height restrictions as determined by Ontario Hydro, and severe environmental conditions during winter in the form of ice in the areas of the public walkway closest to Lake Ontario’s shoreline.
