City of Kingston Memorial Gardens and Aquatic Centre

2009 to 2012
Kingston, ON
Canada

The City of Kingston Memorial Gardens and Aquatic Centre project developed by the City of Kingston includes a new leisure pool, splash pad, water slide and Veterans’ Memorial Plaza.

As the Landscape Architects on the project, we worked closely with a Veteran’s Sub Committee with respect to the Memorial Walls and Veterans Plaza. Our firm developed a Questionnaire to solicit Veteran’s input for ideas and options for the Memorial Plaza and Walls.  We value the veteran's perspectives, and consider their participation integral to the success of this project.

Our areas of responsibility include site development work adjacent to the arena.  Our firm developed plans for two memorial walls, plaza gardens, a play area, picnic area, enhancements and total site accessibility following the F.A.D.S. (Facility Accessibility Design Standards). New access to the original international Hockey Hall of Fame, updated pedestrian areas and parking are also part of our team's work.
